Q:  What surfaces can you use Thieves Cleaner on?   What about stainless steel, varnished wood surfaces, granite, hardwood floor, copper, cast iron or refinished porcelain?

You should be fine to use Thieves Cleaner on these surfaces when diluted. If you are worried, we always recommend to spot test in an inconspicuous area to make sure there are no unwanted side effects.

Q:  Can you use Thieves Cleaner on varnished wood floors and Granite? 

Yes! Just make sure to dilute it. Granite has a porous surface, so you will want to use the medium or light degreasing ratio.

Q:  Can you use it on leather?

Yes, just make sure to use it in an extremely diluted form and don’t let it sit on the surface for an extended period of time.  We suggest performing a small spot test in an inconspicuous location to ensure there are no adverse effects to using this product on the surface.

***It is not recommended to use Thieves Cleaner on vinyl or soft plastic surfaces; however, many people do, so use at your own discretion.  Essential oils will eat away plastic and Thieves Cleaner contains essential oils.

Q:  Can Thieves Household Cleaner be used in a carpet cleaner? 

Because this product is a high foaming cleaner, it would not work properly in a carpet cleaner.

Q:  Can Thieves Household Cleaner be used in dishwashers?

Yes, many of people use this product in the dishwasher. It is best to use it with your Thieves dishwasher detergent. Place a cap full in the bottom of the dishwasher, not in the soap compartments.

Q:  Why does Thieves come in a plastic bottle? 

We recommend storing Thieves cleaner in a glass, stainless steel, or chemical resistant bottle because essential oils may eat away plastic. The plastic bottle that Thieves comes in chemical resistant, it is the same type of plastic that YL personal care products come in.

Q:  What are the ingredients Alkyl Polyglucoside, Sodium Methyl 2-Sulfolaurate, and Disodium 2-Sulfolaurate, tetrasodium glutamate and why they used in this product?

Alkyl Polyglucoside, Sodium Methyl 2-Sulfolaurate, and Disodium 2-Sulfolaurate, tetrasodium glutamate are proprietary wetting agents from renewable plant and mineral sources.
